In a mishmash of settings both real and unreal, the author draws on personal experience gathered from his exploration of planet Earth to show his readers that the world before us is not easily understood. A product of constructive discontent, Sirens is a 10-story anthology of unrelenting social commentary and satire, playful prose, and roguish subject matter made for a time when fiction seems to be the only way to present the unspeakable. With an undertone of travel memoir, the author uses lenses of social biology, bohemianism, affairs of love, and cult mythology to create a kaleidoscope of literary paraphernalia that will provoke thought and, if effective, question the integrity of the reader’s reality.
